Intermitent open calls

The Canal Choreography Centre, under the auspices of the Community of Madrid, offers ‘Intermittent’ residencies throughout the year for artists and professional companies whose work revolves around dance and the movement arts, with priority given to companies in Madrid.

This line of support consists of making the studios of the Canal Choreography Centre available as rehearsal spaces. It is open to all professionals from the dance and movement art sectors –where all styles are given equal importance –.

The granting of spaces must be approved by the Centre’s team, pursuant to internal occupancy and needs. For optimal planning, applications should be sent with a one-calendar-year projection, detailing dates and time slots, as well as the number of artists who would rehearse. After first giving priority to our residents in creation, research, coproducers, and scheduled guest companies at Teatros del Canal, you will receive a response as soon as possible.

To facilitate and optimise resources, a new digital booking tool for our studios is being developed, which will let artists and companies make last-minute daily bookings of any time slots and studios that are free.
